Advance
← Back to glossaryDefinition
An advance is money lent by an agency to a model before their contracts are fulfilled. Agencies often offer advances to facilitate their models' work: housing, transportation tickets, pocket money, professional equipment. These advances are then recovered from the model's first jobs, in addition to the usual commissions, until full repayment. This system allows beginners to start their careers without financial barriers.
