← Back to glossaryDefinition
Haute couture represents French artisanal excellence in clothing creation. Protected by law, this designation is reserved for approved houses by the Ministry of Industry. Creations are entirely handmade in Parisian workshops, custom-made for each client. Haute couture models are the elite of the profession, ambassadors of French savoir-faire and art de vivre.
