In Turkey, private employment agencies (özel istihdam büroları) must be authorised by İŞKUR, the public employment agency, which publishes the list of authorised agencies on its website, so you can check an agency is authorised. Under Law No. 4904, an agency may not take any fee or benefit from the jobseeker under any name; the placement fee is owed only by the employer. Charging the jobseeker exposes the agency to an administrative fine. An agency that asks you for money is therefore breaking the law.
