A modeling agency in Madrid represents models to brands, magazines and fashion houses, and earns a commission on the fees you book, never on money you pay. I list 10 verified agencies in Madrid, one of Spain's two main fashion hubs alongside Barcelona.

649 agencies already verified across 22 countries, and I add more regularly.
In Spain, placement agencies (agencias de colocación) are governed by the Employment Law 3/2023, which requires them to guarantee their service free of charge to the worker. An agency cannot lawfully charge you anything to represent you or find you work. Spain also applies ILO Convention 181, which bars private employment agencies from charging workers, directly or indirectly. There is no licence specific to modeling agencies, but this free-of-charge principle is explicit.
In Madrid, all 10 agencies I list represent both women and men. The Madrid market is driven by advertising, television and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, with agencies working mainly commercial and editorial profiles.
All 10 agencies I list in Madrid accept applications through an online form on their own website. You send recent, unretouched polaroids in natural light, with your measurements and date of birth. No professional book at this stage. If you hold an EU passport, you can work in Spain without a visa or work permit thanks to free movement. A non-EU national needs a work authorisation.
I built two tools to help you prepare a serious application in minutes.
I list 10 verified modeling agencies in Madrid. For comparison, I list 32 in Barcelona.

If you hold an EU passport, no. Free movement lets you work in Spain without a visa or permit. Only non-EU nationals need a work authorisation.
No. Spanish Employment Law 3/2023 requires placement agencies to provide their service free of charge to the worker. A book, a photo day or administration fees asked for upfront are a scam signal.
A legitimate agency never asks you for money. In Spain the law guarantees the service is free for the model, so any upfront payment request is unlawful.
